My father, Loren Dale Martin, was a brilliant and passionate man who cared deeply about people. He was driven by a personal heartfelt duty to protect and to serve and to uphold the law. He went to law school at the University of Utah and primarily spent his career as a practicing attorney in Utah, including a term as Davis County Attorney, just north of Salt Lake City.
Before this he was an FBI Special Agent and military officer. He was stationed with the U.S. Army Signal Corps at NATO HQ in Germany during the late 1960s, when I was a young boy, then during the early 1970s he was assigned to FBI field offices in Oklahoma and Kansas. He was also a lay clergyman, politician, cancer survivor, businessman, and most importantly to him, a family man.
